Projects
Pamina is a traffic simulator written in C++ which was used to compute the results of my dissertation. It runs on workstation clusters and parallel computers using PVM or MPI.
Mostly during my free time I try to be helpful at stackexchange.com My expertise is mainly in XSLT and some ETL with a question about Linux mixed in every once in a while.
Instead of idling, my computers usually do limited work for BOINC. I started with SETI many years ago. Didn't find any intelligent life out there, though. Current projects are Rosetta and Milkyway.
Rechtschreibung is a little Python GUI app to test different rule sets for German spelling. It was one of my first attempts at using Pythonista on iOS.
LittleBrother is a simple parental control application monitoring specific processes (read "games") on Linux hosts to monitor and limit the play time of (young) children.
After my father passed away in 2016 I started to investigate the origins of my family. Since then, the resulting family tree has grown to more than 1.000 people.
